Bringing statisticians and researchers together

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Statistics GroupĀ aims to promote uptake of the most appropriate statistical methodology, facilitate networking opportunities to share best practice and allow opportunity for applied statisticians, clinicians and scientists to collaborate.

NIHR statisticians are funded by NIHR research units such as the Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), Biomedical Research Unit (BRU), Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), Research Design Service (RDS), Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC), Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) or by an NIHR research grant.

The NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI) have used the NIHR Statistics Group as an exemplar of collaborative working between the different NIHR infrastructure organisations.
