Capacity Building Webinar: Statistical methods in social care research
A recording of this event is available.
This Webinar was open to anyone working in or interested in adult social care research with a focus on statistical methods.
Catherine Hewitt presented on reflections on designing a trial to evaluate the effectiveness of a hearing dog intervention, covering topics such as non-compliance, attrition and randomisation.
Jose-Luis Fernandez also presented on challenges and opportunities for analysing administrative social care data. This included aspects such as gaps in data collection, interpreting administrative data and difficulties with gaining access to such data.
This Webinar provided an opportunity to:
1) discuss and share experiences of the use of new and established statistical methods in social care research;
2) discuss routinely collected and other statistical data on adult social care; and
3) explore interest in establishing a NIHR Statistics Working Group for Social Care, and discuss its scope, objectives and activities.
The NIHR SSCR Capacity Building Events Series is supported by the NIHR Academy and the Department of Health and Social Care.
