Translating statistical methods into practice throughout health & social care research
We turn statistical methods into practical tools for NIHR research. Our goal is to make sure the best methods are used and that new statistical research focuses on real-world needs. We provide opportunities for applied statisticians to learn, grow, and connect with others. We bring together statisticians, clinicians, scientists, and patients so they can work together across health and social care research.
Our working groups
-
Early phase clinical trials
Bridging the gap between clinical trialists using traditional designs and modern statistical methodologists with improvements to offer.
-
Imaging studies
To provide a networking group for statistical researchers involved in imaging studies in healthcare research.
-
Laboratory studies
Building communication between scientists and statisticians for experimental laboratory studies.
-
Ophthalmology
Statisticians who have come together because of a common interest in ophthalmology.
-
Oral health
Creating accessible resources to address methodological challenges in applied oral health research.
-
Routine data
To address the issues encountered by statisticians working on fairly complex, routine datasets.
-
Improving statistical literacy
To enhance the communication of statistics and improve statistical literacy throughout the NIHR.
-
Social care
This group focuses on statistical methods for adult social care research.
