Overview

The NIHR Statistics Imaging Studies Group is pleased to announce a series of webinars on the Prospective Imaging Research Design and Conduct

Our second webinar on PROVIDENT (Prospective Imaging Research Design and Conduct) for imaging trials is on Wed 18th Nov 2026 1.30pm-3pm GMT

Webinar 2: Image acquisition, processing and storage

Presenters

  • Francesco Giganti, University College London
  • Sue Mallett, University College London

Each webinar will feature presentations and small group activities to share experience of design and conduct in prospective imaging studies and will be based on the published PROVIDENT considerations.

Imaging is used in a wide range of contexts in clinical research projects, but adds complexity to the design, conduct and analysis. Studies using imaging are often interdisciplinary, spanning various clinical areas, and may have different study designs from the typical randomised controlled trial. The NIHR Statistics Imaging Studies Group’s PROVIDENT project brought together 30 professionals to highlight important considerations in 12 key domains for research teams planning prospective research involving imaging. These considerations and some real-world examples were published in two papers in Radiography, PROVIDENT Part I & Part II.

Look forward to seeing you there!
