The programme is now finalised for the NIHR Statistics Group Conference 2023. The Conference will be taking place in Sheffield from the 22nd to the 23rd June at The Edge and we are excited to host a series of fantastic talks and presentations focused on our conference theme this year, Achieving Best Statistical Practice in Health and Care Research.   Our keynotes this year are Prof Alexandra Freeman, Prof Stephen Evans and  Prof Bhramar Mukherjee, and, in addition to the excellent line up of posters and rapid fire talks, the breakout sessions will  feature a diversity of topics focused on best practice in areas that include effective patient and public involvement in research (PPI), importance of data visualisation, best practice in statistical computing, adaptive design in early-phase trials, best practice with routinely collected data and many more.

The conference will be held in hybrid format with bespoke technical support offered by Beaconhouse Events team that will allow us to stream all breakout sessions, keynotes and rapid-fire talks held in the Main Conference Room.  Our in-person registrations have now sold out, however online tickets are still available, and we hope to see many colleagues joining us virtually this year!

All are welcome to attend the meeting – it will be of particuar relevance to statisticians, data scientists and those with an active interest in statistics and data science.

A unique feature of the NIHR Statistics Group conference is to provide a forum for applied statisticians to discuss ideas and challenges they encounter and much of this discussion takes place within the breakout sessions.  The Conference will run up to 12 such sessions.  Each breakout session takes place within up to a 1 hour time slot with about 20 minutes reserved for questions and open discussion.  Materials presented within one session can be a series of short talks or workshop style discussion activities.

The calls for breakout sessions and posters are now closed.  Thanks to everyone who submitted their proposals this year.
