NIHR Statistics Conference 2025

We are excited to share that plans are underway for the NIHR Statistics Group Conference 2025. The Conference will take place in Sheffield from the 19th to the 20th of June 2025 with hybrid attendance possible for attendees only. All presenters of the breakout sessions are expected to attend in person. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, but it will be of special relevance to statisticians, data scientists and those with an active interest in statistics and data science.
Our keynote speakers are Rebecca Walwyn, Sylwia Bujkiewicz and Nick Jakubovics.
We are also delighted to share that members, working groups and associated groups have an opportunity to submit a proposal for a breakout session. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Bringing theory into practice – throughout health and care research’ and we welcome proposals from cross-disciplinary and/or cross-sector focused teams working together. Areas may include, but are not limited to, best practice in cross-disciplinary research that brings statistical expertise into health and care applications, team science practices, research inclusion, mixed methods research practices, patient and public involvement and engagement activities, collaboration with stakeholders, leadership and cultural models to enhance collaboration within new research frontiers, design and implementation of research tools and generating impact in health and care.

All accepted posters will be submitted as posters in an electronic format (PDF, JPEG, PNG, etc.) which will be available for attendees to view online.
Authors can also opt for a 3-minute rapid-fire talk. Delegates attending online can also opt to deliver a 3-minute rapid-fire talk live online.
Cancellation policy
Notification of cancellation must be sent by email to nihrstatisticsconference@newcastle.ac.uk, please ensure you receive an acknowledgment. A refund less a £20 administration fee will be given on cancellations received on or before 14/06/2025. Cancellations made after this date will be charged the total conference fee and no refund will be provided.
Substitutions can be made at any time, however these may not be reflected in the Programme or Book of Abstracts if changes are made to a presenting author of either an oral or poster presentation after 02/06/2025.
In the event that the conference has to be cancelled due to circumstances out of the control of NIHR Statistics Group conference, refunds on registration fees will only apply once other conference expenses have been covered. NIHR Statistics Group conference will not be liable for any other travel or accommodation costs incurred by participants.
