SAVE THE DATE – NIHR Statistics Group Annual Meeting 22-23 June 2017, Sheffield

The NIHR Statistics Group is holding its first annual meeting in Sheffield on 22-23 June 2017.

There will be keynote speakers, discussion groups and short presentations with the aim of identifying research themes and forming working groups to carry ideas forward with supported action plans.

Topics for discussion will include:

Methods: early phase trials, big data, biomarker discovery, health economics, genetics, diagnostic trials

Career development: mentoring, joint appointment models, leadership schemes

Mechanisms to share/promote best practice.

Funding models to support statistical involvement in grant development.

Statistical literacy: how to improve use of statistics by non-statisticians.
