The NIHR Statistics Group Career Development Section invite you to attend a webinar “Statisticians as Leaders” on Tuesday 7th March 2023 9:30-11:45.
This webinar is aimed at all statisticians reflecting on their current and future roles in leadership. The webinar will have 2 sessions
- Statisticians as Leaders (9:30 to 10:40)
Two speakers will present short talks on their statistical leadership experiences and professional pathways including: what led them to take more roles of statistical leadership in their work, types of roles and tips from their experience of how to be effective in those roles as a statistician.
- Professor Amy Berrington (Team Leader in Clinical Cancer Epidemiology, Institute of Cancer Research)
- Professor Sheila M Bird (University of Edinburgh, former programme leader at MRC Biostatistics Unit, Cambridge)
- Networking opportunity: Growing your statistical network (10:50 to 11:45)
Following feedback from our workshop on building your statistical network at the NIHR Annual conference in Sheffield 2022, we will be running a “speed networking” event for attendees to meet new colleagues.

This event is free of charge, please register by 6pm on Sunday 5th March. A recording of the first part of the webinar (speakers plus speaker Q & A) will be made available after the event.
